Turning off the graphical update of the retrieved FROG trace and electric field during the retrieval process speeds the algorithm. However, since the graph of FROG error and the list of errors are still updated, the performance gain is limited. Also, as the grid size gets large, the relative amount of time spend updating the screen falls, so that turning off the graphics makes less difference for larger grid size traces.
